Why
declutter and organize your space?
Studies have shown that doing so results in more free time, less frivolous spending, and a smaller waistline:
A Boston marketing firm found that the
average American wastes 55 minutes a day looking for things they know they own but cannot find.
A recent study showed that
people with cluttered homes were 77 percent more likely to be overweight or obese.
The American Cleaning Institute found that
getting rid of clutter eliminates 40% of housework
A Harris Interactive Poll found that
23% of people pay their bills late
(and thus accumulate extra fees) because they simply can’t find them
Consider some of the other benefits of organizing your space, too:
You won’t have to stare at (and be driven crazy by) piles in your bedroom, kitchen or office.
You’ll be able to find that favorite grey sweater of yours without any hassle (imagine having more time to spare in the morning!)
You’ll have a clear area in your home for entertaining friends and family, reading and writing, or crafting and playing your guitar.
You’ll finally be able to imagine the possibility of moving or downsizing without the anxiety of having to think about all your stuff .
This all begs the question:
what will you do with all your extra time, space and money?
